Acting Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Hurst Hill Primary School’s website. We hope you are able to use the site to find out about our school and how we learn together.

Since 2017, Hurst Hill has been part of Hales Valley Academy. We are a one-form entry school offering a nursery and wrap-around provision. Hurst Hill is a good school, indeed we are proud of the 'Good' Ofsted rating, which we achieved in February 2022. Hurst Hill Primary is a caring and respectful school. We pride ourselves on the strong relationships we have built with pupils and parents over the last seven years. This has enabled us to comfortably achieve and renew the 'Parent Partnership Award'.
We practice and promote robust online safety procedures and we were the first school in Hales Valley to achieve the '360 esafe' accreditation. We love serving the school and local community, as a result, our school vision and values were written and agreed by us all, showing how we are a united family on a learning journey together.
Our safeguarding ethos permeates the school as we care for the well-being of all our children and the development of the whole child. Pupils feel happy, safe and there are respectful teacher-pupil relationships. We are proud of the high quality pastoral support and consequently good behaviour at Hurst Hill. Our visitors often describe school as a calm, respectful and productive environment.
There is a commitment to improving outcomes for pupils by providing a high-quality education. Our curriculum is ambitious and provides pupils with real-life skills. We prioritise reading to support pupils to access the full curriculum and core texts are at the heart of our curriculum work. Please see our curriculum tab on the website for more information.
We provide breakfast and after school care, as well as a range of additional after-school clubs, shows and performances, including academy and Dudley schools’ events.
We welcome and will accommodate school viewings for prospective new pupils during the school day, or after school to support working families. Please contact the school office on 01384 818845 to arrange your visit. We also offer EYFS drop in sessions as well as stay and play events which are held annually, these are circulated on social media.
We hope you are able to find the information you are looking for. Please do not hesitate to contact the school office should you require any further information.
Kind regards
Mrs C Johnson
